Economic evaluation of the Active Kids program
The CIE were commissioned by the NSW Office of Sport to undertake an economic evaluation of the Active Kids program from 2018-2023 to assess impacts on physically active behaviours, as well as social goals associated with promoting stronger, more integrated, and inclusive communities. Using detailed econometric techniques, we estimated that the Program returned $1.04 for every dollar spent, based on longitudinal data of over 100 000 children that participated in the program between 2018 and 2021.
