Tomas is an economist with broad-ranging experience in economic, financial and corporate advisory. He uses quantitative and critical analysis to advise on complex economic issues with a thorough and considered understanding of the multiple stakeholders in the economy.
Tomas is experienced in analysing datasets such as the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) and the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC), we he applies statistical methods to provide novel insights to a wide range of clients. He also has expertise in developing robust cost-benefit analyses as well as program evaluations and reviews.
Prior to joining the CIE, Tomas worked in Europe, advising corporates and start-ups on their growth acceleration strategies in emerging technology domains, such as hydrogen and artificial intelligence. Such experience affords him an expert knowledge of start-up ecosystems and innovation centres.
Prior to moving to Europe, Tomas was based in Sydney, providing advisory services in the restructuring and insolvency domain. This experience provided him a deep understanding of the mechanics within firms as they reposition to adapt to changing economic environments.
Tomas holds a Master of Economics from the University of Sydney, with a period completed at the University of Utrecht. His Masters thesis focused on identifying and analysing Socio-economic segregation trends in Australia. Tomas completed the Co-op Scholarship for Accounting from the University of Technology Sydney.
