Contribution of Australian horticulture industry

Horticulture Innovation Australia recently commissioned the CIE to undertake and economywide analysis of the Australian horticulture industry. For this job, we developed two specialist models of the industry which allowed us to track both the value of horticultural output and the linkages between horticulture and other industries in the economy.

We were able to combine the economywide models with ABS census data to provide a number of regional snapshots which helps in understanding the importance of horticulture for Australia’s regional communities.
