This year ACIAR (the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research) celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The CIE has worked with ACIAR for most of its history, providing economic and economic impact valuation and analysis.
Our latest publication with ACIAR presents a comprehensive assessment of the benefits ACIAR has generated over the past 40 years. This draws on an impact assessment database the CIE built from over 100 individual assessments of around 300 projects (with the assessments conducted by the CIE and others) and provides a unique record of the pathways by which international agricultural research generated benefits in both partner countries and in Australia. The comprehensive suite of assessments commissioned by ACIAR is probably the single best continuous record of the impact of Australian development assistance.
